Lings Motor Group - Apprenticeships

The government must create three million apprenticeships by 2020 to hit its target - Honda Apprentice Technicians training at the Honda institute. (Far right - Lings Honda Technician, Alex Chapman)

Lings - Supporting the next generation...

At Lings, we are proud supporters of the next gerneration, with many young team members enrolled on apprenticeship schemes through Honda and Triumph. A spokesman for the Department of Education said changes to the apprenticeship system were giving people of all ages “excellent training”. The spokesman added: “Quality is at the heart of our reforms.”

Apprenticeships are structured training programmes which give you a chance to work towards a qualification and help gain the skills you need to succeed in your chosen industry.

However, almost half of company managers think the Government will fail to hit its target of creating three million apprenticeships by 2020, new research has found. The Government set the target in 2015 but official figures show the numbers of new apprenticeships slumped last year.

As a company, Lings are still firm believers in apprenticeship schemes. Hands-on training gives you a real chance to put your skills into practice and helps you to gain more confidence in a working environment.

An opportunity to join the Triumph Apprentice programme, as a Motorcycle Technician has become available with Lings Suffolk Triumph. This vacancy is for a 3 year Apprenticeship, which will result in the successful candidate gaining an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair.

If you have a passion for motorcycles and are able to work as part of a team, then we would like to hear from you. View this oppurtunity  here.
