Lings Lowestoft Get a Sweater on for Marathon FundraiserFriday,16 Dec 2016
You would be forgiven for thinking you'd wandered into Santa's wardrobe at Lings Lowestoft today as staff took part in Christmas Jumper Day to help add to Director Paul Barkshire's London Marathon 2017 fundraising pot.
Paul is running the Marathon on behalf of Children with Cancer UK, a UK based charity that raises funds to support families of children with cancer as well as help fund research into treatment. Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year, and cancer is the number killer of children by far in the United Kingdom. Every penny raised helps the charity in its ambitions, and Paul is aiming to raise at least £10,000 for this amazing cause.
Speaking as he launched his Marathon bid, Paul said
"It's an amazing charity that I'm so proud to have been chosen to represent. As a father and now a Grandfather you can't help but be moved and stunned by the stories of resilience and love from beneficiaries of the charity. It's a big fund-raising target I'm aiming for but this will make a huge difference."
The team here at Lings are right behind you Paul, and we hope our small contribution to your campaign will help.
The Virgin Money London Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 23rd.
You can sponsor Paul through JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Paul-Barkshire where he will also be chronicling his progress toward the big day. Alternatively you can pledge in person by visiting him at Lings Motor Group Lowestoft on Riverside Road.
